Bacalar Culture
Visit Chacchoben and the Bacalar fort, two of Bacalar's historic treasures. At the archaeological site of Chacchoben—“place of the colored corn”—located near Bacalar Lagoon, you can walk along trails surrounded by local vegetation and admire the mysterious Mayan pyramids built on large platforms.
